My client is an international romance author. After chatting about the challenges she was facing and what she had found out about fixing it we decided to move ahead with an email marketing segmentation project. While I usually work with service business owners and coaches, I knew I could help her with this project. She was an excellent client and we achieved amazing outcomes in this email segmentation project.

The challenge she faced was that not enough of her list were opening and clicking. As she'd moved from Kit to Mailerlite she knew she needed to warm up her list. We started with that. But once that project was completed we started a new project to setup a segmentation strategy that she could follow for her email list.

Her emails were performing OK but there were people not seeing her emails. A good click rate is 2-5% and she was achieving the lower end of that.

After we optimized the emails and segmented her audience we doubled her open rate to over 70% and click-through rate over 5%

Results:

After segmenting her audience we achieved over 70% open rates and the click through rate was double what it was in previous unsegmented email campaigns (sent to whole list). We also created a welcome sequence for her new subscribers that helped her start off one the right foot and her audience to know, like and trust her.
